This policy explains how Goodthing collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit our website or get in touch. Goodthing is a trading name of Design by Country Ltd, registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for the information described here.
Who we are
Goodthing (Design by Country Ltd) is a branding studio based at Abbott's House, Courtyard, Butcher Row, Shrewsbury, SY1 1UW. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email warran@goodthi.ng.
What we collect
When you complete a contact or enquiry form we collect the details you give us, such as your name, email address, organisation and message. When you browse the site we collect limited technical and usage data through analytics, such as pages visited, approximate location and device or browser type. We do not collect special category data and we do not ask for payment details through this website.
How we use your data
We use your contact details to reply to your enquiry, scope a possible project and, where relevant, send you information you have asked for. We use analytics data to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We will only send you marketing if you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.
Legal basis
Under UK GDPR we rely on your consent when you submit a form or opt in to hear from us, and on our legitimate interest in running and improving our business and website. Where we rely on legitimate interest, we balance it against your rights and keep our use of data proportionate.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses essential cookies needed for it to work and may use analytics cookies to measure traffic. You can control or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site behave.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with trusted providers that help us run the site and our enquiries, including our hosting provider (Vercel), our form and CRM platform (GoHighLevel) and analytics tools. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements, and some may process it outside the UK under suitable safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for as long as we need it to respond to you and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise it. We keep analytics data for a limited period in line with our analytics tools.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email warran@goodthi.ng and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised date above.
